    Cellardoor Winery Winterfest 2012
    Join us for Winterfest 2012 at the Vineyard in Lincolnville! Fun outdoor activities all day including sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating and snowpeople making. In the barn we'll have wine tasting all day, food and wine pairings and a fantastic lunch prepared by Lani Temple and her team of Megunticook Market! Winterfest is Super Bowl themed this year, so wear your favorite game day attire. Feel free to bring your own outdoor fun equipment. We'll have skates, sleds and snowshoes here too.     From the perspective of a book conservator, this lecture will explore how a book ages and the various considerations for its care. From the choice of materials used in the production of the book, to the successive care of its owners, the choices made by a book�s handlers will have enormous impact on its lifespan. In addition, this lecture will consider how the electronic age has affected the value of the tangible, printed book.

    Portland's Past: Stories from the City by the Sea
    Henry Wadsworth Longfellow immortalized Portland, Maine, as the "beautiful town that is seated by the sea." Maine author Luann Yetter presents the stories from its past that not only showcase this exquisiteness but also illuminate its diverse and exciting history. The founding members of the Forest City braved the harsh winters, but not without scandals and struggles. One man raised a navy to fight the Barbary pirates threatening ships that sailed from Casco Bay, and privateers brought rum onboard and ashore. And while one Portlander traded slaves, many others worked the Underground Railroad as staunch antislavery crusaders. Discover Portland from its beginning as uncharted territory through to its development into the quintessential New England city it is today. Following the talk copies of the book will be available for sale and signing by the author.

    The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor presents Declan O'Rourke
    Singer-songwriter Declan O'Rourke is a name not known to many U.S. music fans, but his music is known to millions. The song 'Galileo" from his debut album Since Kyabram, has been performed by Josh Groban and Paul Weller and Maura O'Connell among others. In fact, during Maura O'Connell's most recent performance at the Opera House she told us that she felt Declan was one of the best new talents in the world.

    The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor presents Primo Cubano
    Formed in 2006 by bandleader Paul D'Alessio after an inspiring visit to Cuba, Primo Cubano recreates the authentic feel and flavor of Cuba's national music...the SON. Primo Cubano plays traditional Cuban dance music dating back to the turn of the 20th Century. Son is the most popular style to come out of Cuba and is the primary contributor to the blend of Latin styles today known as Salsa. It was first a music of the country people and eventually migrated to Havana, where it was urbanized and began to draw a wider audience. The 5 members of Primo Cubano always transport us to a steamy dance floor somewhere south of here.

    The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor presents Enter the Haggis
    Roots rock reinvented. Over the past three albums and five years, Toronto's Celtic rock band Enter The Haggis has found itself at the center of a grassroots success story ever teetering on the brink of mainstream success.     Each year the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor comes alive with the talents of Maine musicians from near and far for the annual Hometown Hootenanny. While it helps raise funds for the non-profit Opera House, it is most remembered for raising the roof and much laughter. This event featuring the country sound of The Wildhorse Band, alongside numerous midcoast musicians always sells out. It is the ultimate good-time night out. All ages.

    Each year we shake off winter with the decidedly summery sound of the 20 member Pan Fried Steel Drum Band. From Caribbean favorites, to classical music played in a whole new way, this is one great night out for all ages. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the show.     1st Annual Hop Swap Festival
    We will be sourcing rhizomes (seedlings) of a west coast variety of hops and asking all you green thumbs to lend a hand in growing the hops we will be using for our "Harvest Ale" in the fall. We will be taking pre-orders for rhizomes all winter and will start them in early spring so they are ready for you to plant in June. The rhizomes will be pre-planted in a composting pot and should be up and thriving at pick up. Included with your baby hop is a freshly brewed BCB ale for just $10.00/ea.

    For more than 5 decades Johnny Tillotson has been writing and performing, with top 40 hits, Grammy nominations and 133 LP’s, EP’s, and singles released worldwide this prolific musician travels to the Opera House for the first time this summer. Known for writing songs recorded by Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and others, his hits have included “Poetry in Motion, “ “Judy, Judy, Judy,” and “You Can Never Stop Me Loving You,” in addition to writing hit theme songs for film and television including Gidget.

    Cycle on beautiful, country roads, past lighthouses and the rock-bound coast, then dine on a freshly made lobster roll lunch. (Tuna and veggie options are available.) This fully supported ride includes four distance options: 16, 30, 50 or 100 miles. The Maine Lobster Ride & Roll supports the Bicycle Coalition of Maine's work to improve bicycling in Maine.
    Cost: Pre-registration rates are $65 (members) or $85 (public rate, including a six-month trial membership in the Bicycle Coalition of Maine), with lower rates for children and seniors.

The show has been running for 54 years and is an annual event that visitors and local residents look forward to.     5th Annual Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival
    Join us on the sidewalks of Maine Street in Downtown Brunswick and on the Mall(green) to celebrate and foster an appreciation of the arts in downtown Brunswick. More than 90 artists' booths will feature painting, sculpture, mixed media, graphics and drawing, photography and fine crafts. Interactive demo artisans will set up on the mall. Throughout the day there will be live Cajun, Swing, Irish, Old Time, Acadia, and Folk music; theater and dance performances, roving jugglers, face painting, and art projects for kids and families. Musicians will roam throughout the town.
